Lesson of the day...
Embrace the mess! My house is covered in play dough, crayons, blocks and hot wheels cars. Noah is still in his jammies, morning diaper, Riley is in his under roos;covered in super hero marker, with Hand, foot and mouth and I am still in the shirt I had on yesterday. But you know what?? I feel awesome! This is when the magic happens.
Its not always possible to have days like this. There are jobs, school days, and chores that just can't wait. What I am learning to do is to embrace the times when you can. Its easy for me to feel overwhelmed by all the demands of being a mother and a wife, but that doesn't mean anything to our children. They don't really care what you have on or what the house looks like. They REALLY don't care what THEY have on. ( at least my boys don't).
My boys just want me to watch them play, color with them, dance with them. As birthdays and Christmas come up I need to remind myself all they really want is is my presence not presents.
So for now , I am going to go move all the furniture out of the playroom, dance and let Riley color on me and make me feel like a super hero!
"may the force be with you!"

This is great, Erin!! Life is too short and the holidays are supposed to be fun damnit! (sorry about the semi-swear word - couldn't find a better one)...
