I totally had planned a long blog on how hard it was to be a women-but seriously...after this Thanksgiving I think most of us KNOW how hard it is. Whew. We had 2 birthday parties ( one for Riley one for my Dad) 3 family dinners, a brunch, an overnight with 4 girls and family pictures. For those of you who are parents of toddlers can certainly relate to how hard making ONE of those in a weekend can be. AND just how many times can you run a dishwasher in a day??

My props to all of you who got Christmas up this weekend and who busted out at 5am to get those good deals. Today my major accomplishments are 5 miles on the bike at the gym- 5 on the treadmill and teaching Riley how to play boxing on the wii!! ( AAAAmen, more self entertainment:) Christmas will have to wait another day.

My love to all- hope you had a wonderful Holiday:)

Presence not Presents

Lesson of the day...

Embrace the mess! My house is covered in play dough, crayons, blocks and hot wheels cars. Noah is still in his jammies, morning diaper, Riley is in his under roos;covered in super hero marker, with Hand, foot and mouth and I am still in the shirt I had on yesterday. But you know what?? I feel awesome! This is when the magic happens.

Its not always possible to have days like this. There are jobs, school days, and chores that just can't wait. What I am learning to do is to embrace the times when you can. Its easy for me to feel overwhelmed by all the demands of being a mother and a wife, but that doesn't mean anything to our children. They don't really care what you have on or what the house looks like. They REALLY don't care what THEY have on. ( at least my boys don't).

My boys just want me to watch them play, color with them, dance with them. As birthdays and Christmas come up I need to remind myself all they really want is is my presence not presents.

So for now , I am going to go move all the furniture out of the playroom, dance and let Riley color on me and make me feel like a super hero!

"may the force be with you!"

Disguised Blessings

Funny how brainstorming happens at the weirdest times?!! My hubby had to be up at 4am for work today, and I just couldn't go back to sleep. But Gods plan was for me to stay up and to really think about what the heck I was doing. Thankfully, what I ended up with was an awesome feeling of purpose and a WAY to many ideas . I have great momentum to go forward with the documentary, I am just trying to figure out HOW to make it all happen. I have a little "lizard" inside of me named, Mushu ( some people call them inner demons, but I like to think of mine as a mouthy little wanna-be dragon with the voice of Eddie Murphy). He likes to make me question myself, places doubt, and tells me no one is going to care about what I have to say. Nasty little brat. All of us have that inside voice telling us to have fear bc we don't know what is going to happen. GREAT NEWS though. We can totally tell them to shut it!!

Its unsettling to put yourself out there. Whether its a blog :), a new relationship, or trying for a new career, don't let your fear rule your life. Honestly, I used to be so super insecure, but by doing what scares me the most (being judged and rejected by peers) I have decided to put myself out there and just stare it right in the face. AND I AM STILL HERE.

Not going to listen to Mushu today. Instead I am going to spell check, hold my breath and publish.

Mother of all Projects Day 1

today is the official first day of "the mother of all projects" for me. Not quite ready to go into too much detail, but I am super excited about the direction its going and my production team. This will be my first "post school/work, non parental" project and its feeling good to get my mind turning. Can't wait to get all the moms I know to somehow participate with me. Now if I could just find the phone I lost at the library today will be a 5 star day:)
